The Homsee Wood Bookcase with Mesh Doors, Drawers and Open Shelving measures 63" W × 15.7" D × 78.7" H and weighs 242.5 lbs assembled. It fits under a standard 8-foot (96") ceiling with more than 17" to spare. Measure the wall width, ceiling height and room depth before ordering, and leave space on either side so the 63" width doesn't feel cramped.

The 15.7" depth sits within the 10–20" range typical for living room storage, so it holds full-size books without jutting into the room. The base is raised about 2.4" on feet, which makes it easier to clean the floor underneath.

It works like a hutch: an upper section, an open counter-height nook and a lower cabinet base.

• Upper: two side cabinets behind black metal-mesh doors, plus a 28.6"-wide open center shelf
• Middle: a wide open bay about 57.6" W × 21.3" H for books, a lamp, baskets or a printer
• Lower: 6 drawers, three on each side, and a center cabinet behind two mesh doors, with two compartments about 28.6" wide and 13.5" tall

The mix of open and closed storage lets you show books and decor while hiding files, chargers and supplies. Measure your storage baskets or bins before you buy them so they fit the 13.5"-tall lower compartments.

The 6 drawers come in three heights, all 12.3" W × 12.6" D on the outside:

• 2 shallow drawers, 5.7" tall, for pens, cables and small office items

Each drawer holds up to 22 lbs. Keep the heaviest contents in the bottom drawers to help the bookcase stay steady.

The countertop in the middle bay is rated for 110 lbs, each shelf for 33 lbs, and each drawer for 22 lbs, with the weight spread evenly. The middle shelf board is about 0.8" thick.

33 lbs per shelf covers a row of hardcover books or a few storage bins. Put heavy reference books and boxed files on the countertop or lower cabinet rather than the top shelves.

The four cabinet doors use black metal mesh set in wood-grain frames. The mesh lets you glimpse what is stored inside while softening clutter, and it adds the Industrial, workshop-inspired look that sets this bookcase apart from solid-door cabinets.

Because mesh lets air through, the cabinets suit items that shouldn't be sealed in, such as a router, a small printer or baskets of throws.

It is made of plywood, particleboard and MDF with aluminum alloy parts, finished in a textured, embossed elm wood-grain melamine laminate with black metal accent hardware. It is engineered wood, not solid wood, and the finish resists everyday marks.

Wipe it clean with a soft, dry cloth, avoid abrasive cleaners, harsh chemicals and excess moisture, and use coasters or placemats under wet or hot items on the countertop.

Yes. At 78.7" tall, it should be secured to the wall with an anti-tipping device. Fix it into a wall stud or use an anchor rated for your wall type, and make sure the device is properly secured before use.

Open one drawer at a time, keep heavy items low, and don't let children climb the shelves or drawers. Check and tighten the hardware from time to time.

Return shipping fees are deducted from the refund after inspection: $80 per package each way for courier delivery ($160 in total), or $300 per item each way for truck delivery ($600 in total).
