Large Soft Edge Desk

The Homsee Large Soft Edge table measures 83.9" L × 35.4" W × 31.1" H, with a 1.4"-thick top and large rounded corners. It weighs 95.5 lbs.

The four round legs stand on a 49.2" × 23.6" footprint, set well in from the ends, so the end seats get open legroom. At 31.1", it sits slightly above the standard 28–30" table height.

It's about 1–3" taller than the standard 28–30" desk height. Most people make it comfortable by raising an adjustable office chair until their elbows rest at about 90° over the keyboard, adding a footrest if needed.

The desktop is 83.9" × 35.4", nearly 7 feet long and deeper than a typical 30" desk, which is more than most executive desks at 59–72" wide. It fits a dual- or triple-monitor setup with screens at arm's length, plus documents and a lamp.

Two people can work side by side with about 42" each. It also works as a meeting table, since the legs are set in from the ends.

The top has no built-in grommets or cable tray, so add your own under-desk organization to keep cords tidy:

• Mount a cable tray or basket under the back edge of the top
• Put a power strip in the tray so only one cord runs to the wall
• Run cords down the inside of a rear leg with adhesive clips; black clips and cables blend into the dark finish

The desk has no drawers, so pair it with a rolling drawer unit or file cabinet to keep supplies organized and the surface clear.

The tabletop is rated for 220 lbs. It rests on a grid-style wood support frame with angled fixing plates, and the four round legs are tied together by lower connector boards that form an H-shaped stretcher to reduce wobble.

Felt foot pads protect floors, and chamfered edges and concealed connector caps keep the surfaces smooth. Sturdy legs and solid joinery are what keep a table steady, so spread heavy dishes across the top and check the hardware periodically.

The tabletop has a red oak veneer finish stained black, so the open oak grain shows through the dark color. The four round legs are solid rubberwood, and the support rails are solid wood. Homsee lists the table's materials as solid pine, rubberwood and red oak veneer.

The top is made in two pieces with a continuous grain, so you'll see a fine seam running across the middle of the table. A veneer surface stays flatter through humidity changes than solid planks, which expand and contract with the seasons.

The table has a black open-grain finish, rated scratch-, stain- and fade-resistant. To keep it looking rich:

• Wipe clean with mild soap and water, then dry with a soft cloth
• Avoid abrasive cleaners and standing water, and wipe along the center seam so water doesn't sit in it
• Use coasters and placemats to protect the finish

Dark finishes show dust and fingerprints more than light ones, so a quick dry-cloth wipe after meals keeps it looking clean, and the open oak grain helps hide small marks.

Yes. Assembly takes about 45 minutes with a hex key and a wrench. The table ships in one box (87.8" × 21.3" × 8.3", 110.2 lbs), so plan for two people to carry it in and to lift the two-piece top onto the frame.

You can request a return within 30 days of delivery. The item must be unused, unassembled, undamaged and in its original packaging, so keep the boxes until you're sure it's right for you.

Return shipping fees are deducted from the refund after inspection: $80 per package each way for courier delivery ($160 in total), or $300 per item each way for truck delivery ($600 in total).
